About My Cymbals

Thank you for visiting Burke's Works Cymbals (B\W Cymbals)! Here are a few important things to know about the website and B\W Cymbals. One thing you'll notice is that this website does not allow for a "Buy it now" option. That is by design. If you like a cymbal you can click "HOLD" which will alert me via email that you are seriously interested in a cymbal and I'll promptly respond to your request and we can make sure the cymbal will meet your expectations before purchase and shipping. My apologies for the extra step but it has proven to be the most successful approach for both the customer and B\W Cymbals. In the event that any subsequent hold request is placed on the same cymbal, it will be queued in order of the request. Meaning if the person ahead of you declines, you're up next for purchasing. So definitely click "HOLD" on a cymbal even if it is showing as on "HOLD", it does not necessarily mean the cymbal has sold, it's just under immediate consideration by someone ahead of you. I will keep you posted on its status. Currently all purchase transactions will be done via Zelle or check, and you will be emailed a receipt and tracking number. Shipping is not included in the listed price.

Here are a few things to know about B\W Cymbals. All B\W cymbals are essentially "one off" cymbals. I do not really have series or cymbal lines but occasionally will give some a name if there is something unique going on. If there is a cymbal you are interested in, but have different specs or characteristics in mind, I can make that cymbal based off of the original if I have the blank material on hand.

All cymbals have a 1 year warranty against material flaws and workmanship related issues. B\W Cymbals reserves the right to determine what is a flaw upon inspection of the damaged cymbal. Breakage, cracks or issues from misuse, drops/falls, theft, environmental damages (water, chemicals, heat etc.) are not covered in any way. This warranty does not extend beyond the original purchaser of the cymbal.

ABOUT US

About Burke's Works

Burke's Works Cymbals got its start in a pretty typical way, necessity. I was living in a small town without a regional drum shop and locally sourcing a good ride for Jazz was not an option. Online shops or a two hour drive to a major city was it and neither of those were great, so I started modifying used cymbals in hopes of landing on the sound I wanted. The sound I wanted was the classic holy grail of either Spizzichino cymbals or old K's which again was out of reach. For those that remember the website Cymbalholic.com, you know the rabbit hole I speak of. That site was how it all began. Cymbalsmiths, cymbal nerds, drummers and cymbal aficionados would carry on to the nth degree on every aspect of the cymbal niche. All of the first generation of indie cymbalsmiths regularly posted there. I lurked that site for information on modifying and making cymbals religiously until the site was closed. I started modding cymbals while acquiring tools and eventually over time started working from cymbal blanks. Fast forward, I began working with Koide Cymbals of Japan, connecting with other cymbalsmiths and thus started Bronze Pie, an online retail store that catered to independent cymbal makers and Koide Cymbals. That endeavour lasted about 5 years and during that time I began making cymbals again. Making cymbals eventually became my primary focus, leading to starting my own brand. Burke's Works Cymbals is a culmination of experience in playing, retail, drum shows and all things related combined with a passion for the instrument that has endured to this day.
